Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 10, 2026

1. Who We Are

Listen is operated by Waypoint Innovation LLC, a Georgia limited liability company. When we say “we,” “us,” or “our” in this policy, we mean Waypoint Innovation LLC. You can reach us at hello@trytolisten.com.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you sign up using Google or Apple, we receive your name and email address from the provider. You may also optionally provide a phone number to receive SMS prompt notifications.

Content You Create

Listen collects the reflections you submit (text or audio recordings) and any responses you leave on others’ reflections. Audio recordings are stored securely and are only accessible to members of your circle.

Usage Data

We use Vercel Analytics and Google Analytics to collect anonymized usage data such as pages visited, device type, and general location. This helps us understand how people use Listen and improve the experience.

Cookies

We use cookies for authentication (to keep you signed in) and analytics. We do not use advertising cookies or sell cookie data.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and operate the Listen service
  • To send you daily prompt notifications via SMS (if you opt in)
  • To share your reflections with members of your circle
  • To improve the service using anonymized, aggregated data
  • To communicate with you about your account or the service

We may use anonymized and aggregated data — with all personally identifiable information removed — for research and product improvement. We will never publicly share your individual reflections or audio recordings without your explicit consent.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers necessary to operate Listen:

  • Supabase — database hosting, authentication, and file storage (hosted in the United States)
  • Vercel — application hosting and analytics
  • Google — sign-in authentication and analytics
  • Apple — sign-in authentication
  • Twilio — SMS delivery for daily prompts

Each provider processes data only as necessary to provide their service and is subject to their own privacy policies.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on servers in the United States. We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, row-level security policies on our database, and secure authentication through established providers (Google and Apple).

Audio recordings are stored in a private storage bucket. Only authenticated members of your circle can access your reflections.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Delete your reflections and audio recordings
  • Request deletion of your account and all associated data
  • Opt out of SMS notifications at any time
  • Withdraw consent for data processing

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@trytolisten.com.

For Users in the European Economic Area (EEA)

If you are located in the EEA, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Our legal basis for processing your data is your consent (which you provide when creating an account) and our legitimate interest in operating and improving the service.

By using Listen, your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States. We take reasonable steps to ensure your data is treated securely and in accordance with this policy.

For Users in California

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, request its deletion, and opt out of its sale. We do not sell personal information.

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data and reflections within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it. Anonymized, aggregated data may be retained indefinitely.

8. Children’s Privacy

Listen is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at hello@trytolisten.com.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you by email or through the service. Your continued use of Listen after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

10. Contact Us
